OLDER WIDOWS EMPOWERMENT

"REACHING OUT TO THE OLDER WIDOWS- NOT FORGOTTEN"

The theme "Reaching Out to the Older Widows- Not Forgotten" is  a program initiated by Universal Peace and Violence Amelioration Centre (UPVAC) to support the Older Widows in our communities.

UPVAC in collaboration with Algier12 Properties ltd, was able to reach out to over 200 Older Widows through this initiative in Jos, Plateau state, Nigeria. 

​

Activities involved counselling session for the widows, heart-to-heart session, interviews and also distrubtion of food items such as rice, yam, salt, spices, also non-food items such as wrappers to selected few oldest among all participants, as well as cash to a few for empowerment.
